Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish native singer. Her birth date was 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was a student at her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord and flautist piano over 3 years. Her budget was supplemented by a stipend for students as well as part-time employment. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill compared to her student classmates and she pondered what alternative direction she would take. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band when the band was featured on I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist to The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977-1980. This is where she first came across Dave Stewart with whom she formed her pop group Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to release her first solo album Diva. The album came out in 1992. The album garnered a lot of praise, both by critics as well as the general public. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album was Released in October of 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. is an accompanying piece for her installation of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called"Now I'll Let You go... It's also her first independently released album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on the 25th of December. She is a social activist, philanthropist as well as a performer. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some success in the late 1970s. Then, she was joined by her fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox launched her solo career with her debut album Diva in the year 1992. The album was the inspiration of several hit songs, including"Why" and "Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa, a 1995 studio album, features cover versions of popular tracks like No MoreI Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six studio albums by her solo as well as a compilation album are the result of her efforts.
